valerian

A friend of mine uses Valerian to help her relax an cope with mild stress symptoms.....

We were in a chemist to buy her new supply and they had rearranged the shop.....
Her coment was :

“don’t mess with people who need Valerian”

 

The drug named Valium is actually not made from Valerian at all but is Diazepam, first marketed by Hoffmann-La Roche is a benzodiazepine drug.  It's one of the most frequently prescribed drugs of the last 40 years. It is addictive and has caused a LOT of problems for users. I suppose they called it Valium so that it sounded harmless!

But to get back to Valerian ...........

It's also used to calm anxious dogs:~)
