smelly..........

Our builder has made a really good job of our new toilet. It looks great and we are now looking for accessories to make it look and smell nice.

I HATE those so called 'toilet fresheners' which hang inside the rim of the toilet. They are ugly and as our cats like to drink from the loo, unhealthy as well.

The aerosol type spray that is still about smells awful and seems even more unhealthy, especially for humans.

The first modern air freshener, for general houshold use, was introduced in 1948. They were aerosol sprays, and in the 1950s, many companies began to add chemicals that counteract toilet odours to their fragrance formula's. In the 1980s, the air freshener market shifted away from aerosols, due to concerns over the destruction of the ozone layer by chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Many other air freshener delivery methods have become popular since, including scented candles, reed diffusers, potpourri, and heat release products.

So I've been looking for some Potpourri. The cheaper ones smell just as bad as the aerosol sprays, but good quality ones are really nice. When the fragrance eventually wears of, I sprinkle scented oil over the petals.
