I heard today in the radio that 1 in 10 of the working population of Holland thinks they will be made redundant in 2012. But they also think that they will get a new job within 12 months.
One interesting fact that shows up as a result of the fear of job loss is the fall in the number of people calling in sick ! It's a phenomena one sees in the American.
Workers are afraid they will be fired if they don't work hard enough.
Therefore they work even when sick, stressed or old.
It seems almost feudal to people in Europe who have such good social systems to support them.
