Artist Simon Beck spends a lot of his time in winter making these amazing 'snow quilts' by walking through the snow in raquette (snowshoes). They take between 5-9 hours to complete.
The main reason he had for making them was because he can no longer run properly due to problems with his feet, so plodding about on level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise.
