rooftops...........

Gardens on rooftops are becoming more and more popular. Green spaces in the city help to produce oxygen, insulate roofs, produce vegetables and flowers make a nice relaxing place for the public.

One famous one is the High Line in New York. Built on a disused railway line it runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues.

Rotterdam has followed suit and transformed an old shunting yard into a row of mega stores, parking deck and on top a huge roof garden 'Dakpark'. It's not completely finished yet, but will be wonderful when it is :~))
