Squirrels can be a nuisance and cause damage to house and garden.They gnaw their way into roof spaces, dig up and eat bulbs etc etc
Methods of control:
Missouri recommends shooting, trapping and repellents
Nova Scotia doesn't like red or flying varieties
The UK advises chicken wire, repellents and grated soap against grey squirrels
You could also do as these people did and get an attack pumpkin OR Ken & friend

I have an odd suspicion that squirrels reproduce by quantum mechanics. We never see their babies (I don’t), even fall-outs from their presumptive nests. I think, maybe their wave functions combine and a new squirrel just appears somewhere.
