This post was going to be all about my aversion to black holes, but I got caught up in the division by zero...
The first reference I could find is by The Brahmasphutasiddhanta of Brahmagupta (598–668) is the earliest known text to treat zero as a number in its own right and to define operations involving zero.
And the urban dictionary has this gem :
'Dividing by zero is the biggest epic fail known to mankind. It is a proven fact that a successful division by zero will constitute in the implosion of the universe'
