a new (to me) fruit

I've often seen these fruits in our local Turkish shop, but had never tasted one before we were in Spain recently.

It's a Loquat

It's got a sort of sweet and sour taste, with a tangy bite to it.

They can be used for all sorts of things : to make jam, desserts, wine or pickle. They are also canned, dried and pickled in jars.

A couple of nice recipes for Loquat Upside Down Cake and another for Loquat Pie

Really fresh tasting and one feels it's full of vitamins etc :~)
And here's the proof :~))
