trepidation

One of my cousins (63) blithely agreed to walk the Westweg trail in Germany  with her son this week. I spoke to her yesterday and she was feeling somewhat anxious about it.. No wonder - they are doing 280Km in 11 days !!

He did it on his own last year and loves mountain walking.

I don't think she realised how high some of the terrain is. All the climbs added together come to 12,000 metres.

The Westweg  in south-west Baden-Württemberg abounds with typical Black Forest idylls and
                                    excellent food and drink.

Problem is that the 'excelent food' will of course be lots of German Sausage, Schnitzels, meat filled Knodels etc.

She's a vegetarian !
If you feel inclined to walk it yourself Wikipedia has the whole route in stages...
