A friend mentioned collar bones the other day while we were discussing ironing (I know boring women talk!) And I had an image of her husband straggled across the ironing board while she ironed his collar bones. I mean heat treatment ok, but with an iron ?
I even imagined him taking a mini ironing board and iron away with him on business trips > > > > > > > > >
I'd never heard of them... probably living with a bloke who wears t-shirts 99% of the time explains this :~)

Turns out that collar bones are bits of plastic (left) stainless steel, silver (below) horn, or even mother of pearl.

This is where they go in the collar
and this is a posh set for travelling.
While researching this, I found that there are
at least 57 types of collar - the mind boggles !
