A friends daughter had an accident while on holiday in Vietnam. She was involved in a crash as passenger on a scooter and needed a pin in her broken leg. There was however a problem as the hospital only had pins in Vietnamese sizes in stock and she is a normal tall Dutch girl whereas the Vietnamese are shorter.

Not a thing one think of when going on holiday !!

Really is quite a dilemma, isn't it? What anyone wouldn't give to be having to think less of which pins fit, and more of how road hazards can be minimized enough to not have to put us through such choices. Hopefully the doctors were able to correct the mistake, and whoever was at fault be made to pay for the medical expenses.
